MICHAEL J PFEIFER AT THE PEDAL STEEL GUITAR

I began playing six string guitar when I was 11. In my mid teens, I played my friend's Fender Hawiian steel guitar. Then, working as a roadie for a pedal steel guitarist, I began playing his. Soon thereafter, I bought my own pedal steel guitar.

After a hiatus, in 2004 I started freelancing as a sideman again. I have played on the "Heartlands Hayride", a live radio show located in Baptistown, NJ, and at Bally's Wild Wild West in Atlantic City, NJ. After that, I became a lead instrumentalist fronting several impromptu trios at Hansil's Bar & Grill in Oakland, NJ.

In 2006, I began doing solo work playing gospel hymns in the community room at St Mark's Episcopal Church, the Novena and the healing mass at St Nicholas Catholic Church, and the "Parish Cafe" at St Mary's Catholic Church. My repertoire consists of  traditional C&W songs, standards, and gospel hymns.
